THE MIROSLAV BUKOVSKY QUINTET
Alliance Française Soirées Jazz are focal in the Canberra jazz scene with a very strong and loyal following. The third in the 2008 series is to be held on Friday 1 August from 7-9 pm.
On this night we welcome back the celebrated jazz group, the Miroslav Bukovsky Quintet who will play a mix of styles, including original Australian compositions.
Alliance Française jazz lovers will remember that Miroslav Bukovsky teaches at the ANU’s School of Music. He is also the leader of Wanderlust and the Musical Director of Ten Part Invention. With a strong national and international reputation as a trumpeter and composer, he performs at jazz festivals in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Miroslav (trumpet) has brought together a group of young, talented musicians - Sebastian McIntosh (saxophone), Ed Rodriguesz (drums), Dave Rodrigues-Lovibond (guitar) and Bill Williams (bass).
